Our solution to this problem is to excavate that part of the foundation, install specially engineered drainage called EZ Flow then install a completely inorganic insulation material called Silverglo that will prevent that part of the footer from being exposed to the damage-inducing ice. The soil is then placed back against the house so that it can be reseeded. Kelly now has peace of mind that her foundation is protected from the ever-present force of nature that is frost heave.
