This early 20th century home was built with hand hewn beams and joists on a stacked stone foundation. The flooring system was held up with log posts. Attempts by other contractors to scab some of the troubled joists to add support, unfortunately, left some underlying issues unaddressed. One of the most affected components of the flooring system was the hand hewn rim joist. It was rotted enough to poke a pencil through with minimal force.
