A homeowner in Ithaca, NY, was concerned about insulating their crawl space while also preventing potential radon infiltration. Solution
To resolve these issues, we recommended a comprehensive crawl space encapsulation using our CleanSpace and TerraBlock systems. Installation began with TerraBlock insulation, which conforms to uneven crawlspace surfaces to deliver consistent insulation and an effective vapor barrier. Next, the CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed, featuring a durable 20-mil, 7-ply polyethylene liner with antimicrobial protection. Carefully secured with specialized fasteners and sealants, the system eliminated gaps that could allow moisture or radon intrusion. As a result, the crawlspace was transformed into a dry, protected environment, enhancing structrual stability, improving energy efficiency and significantly reducing the risk of radon infiltration for long term homeowner peace of mind.
