Woodford Bros., Inc. is excited to announce some important changes in its organizational structure to better serve its customers and support its employees. These changes include promoting Tommy Woodford III to General Manager, creating a separate Human Resources (HR) department, and making adjustments to the Service department.

Tommy Woodford III has been promoted to General Manager and Louie Agostini has been promoted to Operations Manager due to their outstanding leadership and contributions to the company. This change will help drive the company's strategic goals and ensure continued success.

The HR department is now independent from Accounting, led by Devin Czarnecki as HR Manager. The HR department will also handle the Recruiting and Trainer positions.

Honestly, it was a little surreal. We did not have any inclination that we were going to win it, or that it was even on the table. But when Dave started describing the winner as a company that had been in business for 60 years, I thought, 'Hmm, that's narrowing the field.' Our team was super excited. Tommy (Tom Woodford III) was just sort of with me, absorbing it.

YOU HAD A HUGE YEAR OF GROWTH LAST YEAR (THE SECOND-FASTEST GROWING DEALER IN FOUNDATION AND CONCRETE REPAIR). WHAT DO YOU ATTRIBUTE THAT SUCCESS AND GROWTH TO?

My mentality is that we are incredibly open to all of the ideas that are put out there. I don't think that any person or any organization is completely flawless, but (Foundation Supportworks) has a huge advantage in that, you've got all of these dealers in a network who are contributing their ideas and their experiences. Why in the world wouldn't you want to take advantage of that? Look, if
I wanted to learn how to play chess, I'm gonna go to somebody who's an expert chess player and who's obviously doing well. I'm not gonna go listen to my Uncle Bob, who plays once a year. We
literally just took the attitude that we were gonna be open to these new things, new ideas from the network. And even if they didn't resonate with us 110%, that was OK. We were still gonna try it.
And you know, 98 % of the time that's worked out just great for us.

Well, you know the adage: 'What if you train them and they leave? Or worse, what if you don't and they stay?" Plus, I think that the employer-employee relationship is changing. People expect more. Another consideration is that I'm a second-generation owner. Hopefully, Tommy is third and his son is the fourth. So, we're not thinking short-term and we know that to scale, I can't even begin to do everything, so we're just literally looking to scale up and empower others and allow them to become better at what they're doing. And those trainings are given to us, so again, why not? Why in the world wouldn't we do that, you know? Yes, sometimes, we've had occasions when we've taken 20 people out of the field to go train for a week. That hurts a little, you know, but as far as we're concerned, that's literally just an investment in them and in our future.

Woodford Brothers Teams with SU Athletics to Transform Basement of Deserving Community Member

Each year, Woodford Brothers sets out to make a difference for our local community. It's an effort we call Operation Impact. In the past, we've built wheelchair access ramps for a local church and for the home of an employee. We've gathered a team to wash the gravestones of veterans, and we've even lifted and leveled leaning monuments at a local cemetery.

This time we decided to think outside the box. We partnered with SU Athletics to help us get the word out and provide a dry basement along with an unforgettable game night experience courtesy of SU Athletics. We called it the Home Defense Contest. Our contest led us to Ruth and David Sturgis, a well-known couple in the volunteer community. They own a pet food store in Cicero, NY called Dog Daze. They pioneered a pet food pantry that feeds animals that live in the homes of people in need. They figured that when someone is in need and going through hard times, they shouldn't have to worry about losing their beloved pets because of difficulty paying for pet food. They called the Hardeko Helping Paws Food Pantry. They serve on the board for local non-profits and Ruth volunteers her time bringing her sweet dog, Elsa to local schools and juvenile centers. Elsa is a certified therapy dog and she brings joy to troubled youth. She also brings her to any local school that invites Cuse Pit Crew into their classrooms for a chance to interact with Elsa and learn about the proper way to greet dogs and care for them.

Their selfless nature and strong desire to help others earned them multiple nominations for our contest. Ruth and David were scheduled to attend a trade show out of town the night of the game and prize presentation so their niece, Brea, and her husband Mike represented them on the court. It was our pleasure and honor to provide them with our services.

The Design Specialist will first speak with you over the phone or text. With a little help from technology and patience, we will get you answers.

After the inspection, the Design Specialist will prepare a plan tailored to your home. By the time the presentation is over, you’ll know exactly what is causing the problem, and how to fix it. At Woodford Bros., Inc. we will tell you how to fix the problem for good and exactly how much it will cost.

Communication Is the Key

We can also complete the installation process without any person-to-person contact. The foreman will call ahead of time. Setup arrangements and walk you through the entire process. With Woodford Bros., Inc. you’ll know exactly what to expect. The crew will make the necessary repairs while you remain in another part of the house or go off-site. Then, when the repairs are complete, the crews will clean up and call you for payment. You will have peace of mind and our crews will disinfect as they leave.

Home Owners in Central New York have crazy weather year round from snow storms, rain, snow melt and more. Many times if you live in a house in the winter time everything might seem okay, but then once spring hits you may see some changes in your house. So, what signs should you be looking for to indicate a problem in your home? Tom Woodford Jr. says, “look for cracks in the foundation and dry wall, these cracks can be visible for a quite a while…but we recommended to not let those cracks go and to call us to take a look.” What could be causing the cracks in your foundation? Mike Woodford says, “The hydrostatic water pressure builds up on the back side of the wall. That water puts pressure on the wall and causes it to push forward.” Weather conditions in Central New York regularly go through multiple thaws throughout the winter and into the beginning of spring. Which means water pressure builds up during those heavy thaws and then is released through the cracks into the basement over and over causing the cracks to grow over time. The larger the cracks and more your foundation moves you will then start to notice cracks in your dry wall and your windows and doors not opening and closing. The problems will not get better on their own, it will just keep getting worse and more dangerous over time. If you’re a home owner and notice a crack in your foundation or dry wall don’t ignore it!
